Reporting and Addressing Complaints
Reporting Sexual Harassment
If you experience or witness sexual harassment, it is crucial to report it promptly to ensure a safe and respectful workplace. Here’s how you can report an incident:
Immediate Action: If you feel safe, clearly tell the harasser that their behavior is unwelcome and must stop.
Document the Incident: Write down details of the incident(s), including dates, times, locations, and any witnesses.
Report to the Internal Committee (IC): Submit a formal complaint to the Internal Committee as soon as possible. This can usually be done through email, an online form, or in person.

Internal Committee (IC) Process

The Internal Committee is responsible for handling complaints of sexual harassment. Here’s an outline of the process followed by the IC:
Receiving the Complaint: Once a complaint is received, the IC will acknowledge it in writing.
Preliminary Inquiry: The IC may conduct a preliminary inquiry to determine if the complaint falls under the purview of sexual harassment.
Formal Investigation: If the complaint is valid, a formal investigation will be initiated. This includes:
Interviewing the complainant, the accused, and any witnesses.
Reviewing any relevant documents or evidence.
Maintaining Confidentiality: Throughout the investigation, the IC will maintain strict confidentiality to protect the privacy of all parties involved.
Interim Measures: The IC may recommend interim measures to ensure the complainant’s safety during the investigation, such as changing work assignments or granting leave.
Concluding the Investigation: The IC will complete the investigation within a specified timeframe (usually 90 days) and prepare a report with findings and recommendations.
Support Systems Available
It is important to provide support to individuals who have experienced sexual harassment. Available support systems include:
Counseling Services: Access to professional counseling to help cope with the emotional and psychological impact.
Legal Assistance: Guidance on legal options and assistance in filing police complaints if needed.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs): Programs that offer confidential counseling and support services.
